Wintery Meet-up!

You may have already read here or here, but this past weekend I met up with two lovely bloggers, Kerry from Kestrel Finds and Makes, and Debi from My Happy Sewing Place!  What a wonderful time.

We started out with afternoon tea at the Dome, which is all decked out for Christmas – including cinnamon-scents watfting through the air vents and soap flakes floating like snow out the window (they fooled us!  We thought it was real snow, but I later found out it was not!).  In case you are not familiar with Afternoon Tea, it is a lovely 3-tier tray of finger sandwiches, fresh scones with jam and clotted cream, and dainty cakes and desserts on top; of course it is served with a pot of tea!

After tea, we headed towards Grassmarket for the craft, gift, and vintage shops!  I was good an only bought 1 item: a super warm cashmere jumper, albeit not so vintage.  We found some really fun patterns, but they were a bit too expensive for our liking…

Lastly we headed to the Christmas Market near Princes Street Gardens for mulled wine to top off the day.

It was so packed but we managed to stick together and find a free stand of the piping good stuff.  Cheers!

Debi has had the ingenious idea for a Scotland-based blogger meet-up!  We’ve called it the Crafters’ Ceilidh and are hosting it on the 14th of January.  We plan to visit a few shops, perhaps a yummy meal, and a swap!  We’ve yet to decide if it will be in Edinburgh or Glasgow (waiting on all bloggers interested to put in their two-cents) but we are so excited!  Do let me, Debi or Kerry know if you are planning to make it!  I’m tired of jealously reading of all the lovely London-based meet-ups and I cannot wait to have our own!  Come join us!

What! I can’t believe that snow was not real! Hee hee, we were totally fooled weren’t we?

Looking forward to the meet up 🙂

Sounds like a great time. Reminds me of our afternoon tea when we were over.

How lovely! What a perfect day – afternoon tea, shopping, snow (albeit pretend), and some mulled wine!!!
Glad you all enjoyed your meet-up.

Ooh, what a glorious day! I am so envious and wish I could magically transport myself to Edinburgh to spend the day with you three. 🙂

Did you go to Helio’s Fountain in the Grassmarket – I used to buy lots of beads there back in the 80s!!

What say you?
