Finally, his finished Jumper!

I have finally finished the thrice ripped out jumper for my dear husband!  It has been painstakingly knitted, tried on, reknitted, etc., and it was so worth it!  It fits him so well, and I love all the details that we planned and put into it.

Trenty's Track Jumper_2

We began to plan it the week Trent’s favourite J Crew jumper got shrunk in the wash. That was a sad day! Anyway, we designed a new jumper similar to it but with a few alterations.

Features of the Jumper:
seamless – The ONLY way to go!
top-down – My preferred direction for knitting
Shoulder tabs – Because I’ve never done them!
track collar – It’s so warm on the neck!
button placket – More organic than a zip
seamless set-in sleeves – They look so good!
2×1 rib at cuffs, hem, collar, and underarm
1×1 rib at button placket

Teo was very good to take off the jacket for a few brief photos of the jumper.  We took the pictures while on a recent holiday… in Stockholm!

It looks so nice peeking out from his jacket!  It stood up quite well to 3 days’ wear, too.

And only 6 months ago, it looked like this!

Ahh, what a nice feat to have accomplished!  The husband is very appreciative, and I am very satisfied.

Looks good to me! Malcolm appeared at the weekend in a jumper I knitted him a couple of winters ago in aran from New Lanark. There was just one problem – it had obviously shrunk last time I washed it!! So now I will properly shrink and felt it, perhaps to make a bag! I guess that means I will have to make him another one …..

Wow! I love everything about this sweater, all the details you have included are perfect. The button placket looks so much better than a zip would, you’re right, and the shoulders look great too. Sounds like it was a real labour of love. And done just in time for winter, perfect!

What say you?
