What the What?

I am speechless. Ok, I’m not, but I’m floored by this clock.

Designed by Siren Elise Wilhelmsen, the work entitled 365 was featured in a design festival in Berlin to present a different way to look at time.  The clock completes one knitted round per day (48 stitches = 1 round) and an entire 2 meter scarf takes a year to complete.  Just in the way that we can see time through growth of fingernails and hair and plants, we can now see time in the growth of the knitted scarf.  Time has a different internal effect on everyone – a minute, a day, a year may feel longer or shorter depending on your attitude or place in life.  Although we internally experience time uniquely, we can now externally see it in a consistent growth pattern.

Don’t forget to buy “more time…”

This is so special! I’m really floored. I love the idea that you can see the days being knitted away. Kind of like my life!

What say you?
